Customer

Callimedia faced strategic crossroads in 2024. The planned retirement of one of the founders, Gérard Peccoux, as well as in-depth market shifts due to massive AI adoption unlocked both new risks and opportunities for the company. Joining forces with a larger player with strong SaaS expertise and exposure to the enterprise market segment was the privileged scenario, provided that the enterprise valuation and contemplated synergies be aligned with sellers' expectations.

Challenges

Our team provided end-to-end M&A assistance until closing. We swiftly executed the transaction through a 6-month competitive process, including preparatory and negotiation phases. This deal enabled our client to:

  • accelerate its ongoing transformation towards automation and a SaaS business model, augmented with embedded educational content.

  • level up its value proposition to end customers while addressing new market segments.

  • design a clear path to reach a critical size in the consolidating and fast-evolving European Edtech market.

Achievements

" Odyssey was our closest strategic partner to expand our vision, swiftly execute our sale project despite many challenges and eventually create value. Their unwavering commitment, result-driven negotiation expertise and strong business acumen were key in successfully closing the deal. Callimedia, now backed by Syfadis, enters a new growth era to achieve its ambitions in the Edtech industry.”
